Photo Entries
Photos will be divided into two types: Amateur and Professional. For the purpose of this contest, a Professional is anyone who has received compensation of more than $500 for photography work.
All photos must be of Beardies. No humans in the pictures, please, and no photos taken by professionals who are not entered in the contest (such as win photos). All entries must be submitted via email as an attachment to slgirty@gmail.com, or submitted via snail mail on a CD. Email is highly recommended.
Categories
Out and About
Beardies doing what Beardies do. This can be Beardies playing in leaves, water, mud, snow, etc. Visiting unusual places or doing unusual things.
Blowin’ in the Wind
There is nothing more beautiful than a Beardie’s coat “blowin’ in the wind.”
Action!
This is a shot displaying our Beardies’ athleticism. This can be running, jumping, diving, swimming, etc.
Laughing Out Loud
This is a shot of your Beardie doing something funny or being silly and makes you LAUGH OUT LOUD!
It Is What It Is
This is any photo that doesn’t fit one of the above categories. We don’t want anything to be left out!
Please tag each photo with category and caption on the entry form. Photos will not be accepted without this information.
Entries and Fees
You may submit up to three photos per category. There is a $5.00 fee per photo submitted. Your entry fees can either be mailed to Sheree and Lois, or you can pay via PayPal at 2023bccatreas@gmail.com. Please put “Photo Contest” in the Notes section on the PayPal page.
If you’re paying by check, please make the check out to 2023 BCCA National Specialty.
Entries close on September 18, 2023. All photos, fees, releases, and entry forms must be received by that date. There will not be any extensions or exceptions.
You may also use this handy PayPal button to pay for your entries. If you are entering more than one photo in a given category, you can change the number of entries at the checkout process.

Forms
Judging
Entries will be judged based on creativity, photographic or artistic quality and effectiveness in conveying each individual category. A photographer will judge the entries and all contest decisions will be final.
Awards
Ribbons will be awarded by category for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. A Best in Show ribbon will also be awarded. If you are in attendance, ribbons and photos can be taken down on the last day of the show. If you are not in attendance, ribbons will be mailed after the show.
People’s Choice Award
A “People’s Choice” award will be awarded at the show. If you are in attendance, please vote for your favorite!
